02. Our Cookie-Free Philosophy

Modern web users are fatigued by intrusive cookie consent modals, banner overlays, and aggressive cross-site tracking. At Polling Rate Test, we believe high-performance gaming utilities should be fast, clean, and respectful of your browser environment.

We designed our software so that no cookies are required to deliver accurate, real-time pointing device diagnostics.

04. Ephemeral In-Memory State vs Storage

While you interact with our benchmarking canvas, temporary variables exist inside your browser's execution memory (RAM):

• Selected Benchmark Duration: When you click 5s, 8s, or 10s, that selection is held in a local JavaScript closure variable. It is not saved to your persistent hard drive.
• Pointer Coordinates & Deltas: Coordinate timestamps recorded during the benchmark live strictly in memory for the duration of the test and are discarded immediately upon reset or tab closure.
• Zero Supercookies: We do not utilize IndexedDB, HTML5 LocalStorage, SessionStorage, or Flash LSOs to store stealth tracking identifiers.

05. Third-Party Services & Fonts

To deliver a modern gaming aesthetic with ultra-crisp monospaced typography, we utilize Google Fonts to serve the open-source JetBrains Mono typeface. When your browser fetches font stylesheet files, requests are handled via Google's global Content Delivery Network according to standard web caching policies.

Google Fonts does not set tracking cookies or utilize authentication credentials to profile individual users during font asset delivery.

06. Managing & Blocking Browser Cookies

Although our site does not place tracking cookies, you maintain universal control over cookie storage in all major web browsers. If you wish to configure your browser to block all cookies globally:

• Google Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies and choose your preferred blocking level.
• Mozilla Firefox: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection and select Strict.
• Apple Safari: Go to Preferences > Privacy and enable Prevent cross-site tracking.
• Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Because Polling Rate Test requires zero cookies, blocking all cookies in your browser settings will not impair any diagnostic or benchmarking feature on our site.
