01. Why We Built Polling Rate Test
For over a decade, PC gamers and hardware reviewers wanting to check whether a mouse was truly reporting at 500 Hz or 1,000 Hz were forced to download obscure, unverified executables or use archaic web tools created in the early 2000s.
Those legacy browser tools suffered from critical flaws:
- The 60 Hz Monitor Trap: Standard web event listeners were historically capped to the display frame rate, leading gamers to mistakenly believe their brand-new 1000 Hz mouse was malfunctioning.
- Ad-Cluttered Interfaces: Bloated with popups, tracking scripts, and CPU-sucking video banners that caused severe input latency during the test itself!
- Zero Support for Next-Gen 4K & 8K Mice: Modern esports sensors operate at 2,000 Hz, 4,000 Hz, and 8,000 Hz. Older tools lacked the mathematical filtering needed to process thousands of coalesced micro-events every second.
